Light Painting

Light painting Experiments.
Today we decide that we were going to try a few live camera tricks, using a Cannon 600D.
By changing the camera to manual mode, and setting it to 'Bulb' mode this allowed us to change the shutter to speed to 1/10-15 allowing a light to be moved about in different variations creating images shown below.

We are going to be using this technique during the digital story telling project, by using different styles I personal think we can create a fantastic visual moving image video.

The light was a mobile phone however for the project we will be using torches and coloured filters to be able to show mood and add a sense or feel to the video.

I really like this idea be able to create type and shape using a light and photo will give us an unique video.
Problems we encountered was being the first time we had ever done this technique was was unsure what the outcome would look like. So the technique as a little difficult at first.

The link above is the original website in which, we found an article on how to create the light painting.

Researching into more light art, I have come across 10 masters of light light graffiti.
Here are a few images and ways in which I could apply this to my work and my opinions on them :

This image being way more complex the my groups individual effort however, I think that the city scape and landscape feel would make an interesting background and we could possibly apply this to my group work.

I really love the complexity of this image, it seems to be some sort of throw up, or a tag. It's done with a very bright 400w light, I would like to use a some sort of brightness whiten our project.
Again the background is very strong again the image is centred unlike, the first image shown above, which allows us to see everything which is going on.
Creating images with light painting is a very hard picture to create, we learnt this first hand when testing which can be shown in our original shots, I would like to apply some sort of drawing with light into our project this allows us to again create visual interesting photos.
